Heritage training in Kőszeg

Operating in the Europe House of Kőszeg, the Institute for Social and European Studies has won funding in the framework of the EEA/Norwegian Financial Mechanism. In the frame of the Grant the institute has launched a new MA Programme in Cultural Heritage Management and Sustainable Development from September 2009 on.

Now it is in Hungarian but hopefully later in English as well. The pilot programme has accepted students from different fields, with historical sociological, archeological, architectural, museological or related backgrounds. The pilot project provides a full scholarship, including free accomodation for the academic year. In the last week of March, the managing director of ITA, dr. Lia Bassa was delivering a course there on information management of heritage sites, museums and their touristic, environmental relations. The training included a decision making role play, a targeted sight seeing and – as a final test – the submission of a tender with the subject of developing the information management system for a heritage site.
