Introduction

The objectives of the Foundation established on 1 October 1997 by the Founding Charter are the following:

  • Support the development of IT in Hungary;
  • Support scientific activities and researches related to IT and assist information centres dealing with the subject;
  • Support the development of the infrastructure in Hungary, taking into special consideration the spreading of computer use in Hungary;
  • Support the self organised local communities and self-governments, taking into special consideration the establishment of the IT structure of the self organised local communities and self-governments;
  • Support the development of local cultural life, taking into special consideration the development of IT systems of local cultural communities;
  • Assist local communities to increase their recognition taking into special consideration to develop their recognition by the help of IT tools;
  • Contribute to reduce unemployment by the help of IT;
  • Support the spreading of awareness in environmental protection by the help of IT;
  • Support various studies, researches promoting the establishment of information society;
  • Assist in wide spreading information of various subjects as well as the establishment of information centres.

In order to achieve its objectives, the Foundation performs not-for-profit activity (Registration number: 7399) pursuant to point c) of Article 26 of Act CLVI of 1997 on Nonprofit Organisations:

  • Scientific research;
  • Education and training, capacity building, information dissemination;
  • Cultural activity;
  • Promoting equal social chances for underprivileged groups;
  • Facilitating training and employment of social layers encountering challenges on the labour market, and delivering related services.
